So This Guy Goes For A Walk

Ray Bradbury wrote the "The Pedestrian" because he wanted to display the already forming changes in society. When he wrote this in 1951 he made the setting in 2052, in doing so he showed how the social norms changed overtime. In this story he was already foreshadowing our world and how it would develop into to this technology consumed culture that humanity and actual real life interaction would eventually fade ultimately dissipate.
