Story of My Life
An event in my life I can turn into a short-story:
One day when I was younger my family and I were having dinner outside. It was a summer day so there was still some warm evening light out with a fresh breeze to cool us off. As my Dad was barbecuing in the corner of our patio my Mom, siblings and I were talking and having fun while we waited for our food at the table. Then out of nowhere my sister screams, "Ahhhhh oh my god!!!!!" jumping onto the picnic table bench we were going to eat at. "What?!!?, What happened???"exclaimed my mom. Then my sister points and my mom and brother both followe her gaze. All of a sudden she too had the same reaction screaming and jumping up onto the table bringing my brother along with her. "Esau!!!!" my mom screamed, crying out for my Dad, "hurry and do something!!" With my mother and siblings screaming and my Dad rushing over, I was still barely trying to figure out what was going on. "What is it?" I asked calmly and as I stood up to see what they were all screaming at. Once I did I found myself looking at a small baby little gopher. "Aww" I exclaimed, standing up on the bench to get a better look. It was a small little gopher who's size was about as big as canned food and it's eyes barely being able to open, however I couldn't see it for long because in this frantic moment of realizing what it was, the gopher started to inch closer and closer to our table freaking my mom and sister out more. So in the heat of the moment, or at least that's what my Dad says to justify himself, as my whole family is screaming my Dad immediately reacts by kicking the poor baby gopher. The little gopher is sent flying into the air, it's, limbs spread out in the shape of a star as it flies through the sky and out of our backyard. In this moment I was processing everything in slow motion. My family screaming, my Dad kicking the gopher and me just standing there for those few seconds were the funniest, most, dramatic and traumatic things I saw as a child. I never found out what happened to that baby gopher, my Dad claims he never found after he kicked it so hard. I believe it either some how ran away, landed in our neighbor's backyard or my parents know what happened but just never told me, but who knows. After that my family laughed and felt bad for the situation of what had just happened but then we continued with our evening moving on with our lives.
