Hello World

Welcome to One World Culture. I'm a small town girl with big dreams. One of my big dreams is to one day travel the world. There is a such a big world out there that being from a small town community, the desire to go out there and experience what the world has to offer drives me to work hard to make that dream a reality. However there is this lurking feeling that people generally feel when experiencing something different or out of their comfort zone. Although we have technology to connect us with people from all over the world, people don't use it in the way of actually becoming connected with others. In my community we primarily celebrate the Mexican culture and even though I am from Mexican lineage I still don't speak Spanish. This however didn't stop me from embracing my culture even though I was scared of the language barrier, I still found other ways to experience my culture. Now as I start to think about my experience, I've started to realize that this should apply to any culture out there. In every part of the world there is a culture that we may have never heard of before, I want people from anywhere to realize the beauty of other cultures and not be afraid to try something that is different regardless of a language barrier. Aspects such as food, language, art, and anything traditional from their lifestyle are just some components that make up a culture and there are many ways to learn through them. That is why I hope that all kinds of people will be able to open their eyes to a bigger picture, to see that we are all one people, one world, and one culture.
