Life During Wartime

Heller originally describes the army men in the hospital as dishonorable and deceitful because not only is he trying to make these characters more relatable or easier to understand but also because he is trying to use satire and irony that is kind of causing our perspectives to be the opposite because we start to realize that these men can't be too bad after because they're only human. This is the only reasoning to me that would make sense since the author wants to prove a point with the use of satire.
