What's In A Name

Author, Joseph Heller, of Catch-22 had so much fun making such harsh names in this novel because it brings to light his tone even more towards the characters without even having to use any type of dialogue or other rhetorical techniques. Heller's tone towards the characters is very harsh and hateful because he names them in a way that some people can relate because it's what they call others when they strongly dislike someone, except this is more in a more playful way. This shows that Heller is trying to tell us how he views a character in his novel and how the readers interpret Heller's main purpose of the story which is to show that heroes are still humans and they aren't some perfect god like person.
