Books and New Tech
Now in today's society people's perception on books and technology have dramatically changed over time. Books were the original form of entertainment and expression which helped people create their own imaginations however over time as technology has advanced people don't use it as much as we used too. This loss of passion for books I think has really caused a decline in our skills for imagination and connection. Language is one major way of how we express ourselves and without that desire to read books we lose that as a skill of being able to express ourselves but also a connection with other humans. Now with technology people turn to their phones with shows and music and so much more to escape their realities for a moment but at what point does it start to really cut us off from the physical world. Although we can connect with so many people online through texts and calls, on the other hand the connection of actual human face to face interaction is fading. That's why I believe there needs to be a balance between all of this, both can be good but in moderation. Depending on the generation people may have different opinions regarding the usage and importance of books and technology, however you can't simply get rid of one or the other in order to solve this debate but rather compromise. We live in a day of age where technology is advancing and the younger generations have only grown up in a society were they have been surrounded by technology and vice versa for the older generations growing up with books as their form of entertainment so in both generations we've realized the importance of both but also the downside of both, so in that sense keeping a balance of both can help us all grow as a community before the generation advances more.
