April 1 & 2: If I were to write an advertisement for F451 in order to promote the novel I would use questions in order to provoke interest. I would ask questions such as, "Can you imagine a world where books didn't exist? Were we could watch tv all day from screens bigger than our phones? Or how about having a job where you get to burn books legally for a living? This wounds great right? but is it really all up to what we think it is?" I would say something like that in order to provoke interest while also saying the main details of this dystopian society.
April 3: I think what influences me more unfortunately is my relationships with other people because everyone changes their attitude or their "masks" to fit in with whatever situation it is. Whether it's because we are with friends and we're in a professional space we change the way we act in order to "fit in" with our situations which kind alters us in a way because we aren't truly ourselves but I do think it's still just another side of ourselves. However I think it's ok to have bit of this in your life, I don't mean change who you are completely but sometimes our behaviors changes for a good reason in order to give off a good first impression. It's important to maintain the relationship with yourself because that's what makes you who you are but we are all dynamic characters in a sense because we are forever evolving and that's why change is our only constant.
April 6: One time I read something that I didn't quite understand until someone explained it to me. For me I struggle very much with history so it's my weakest subject and since I have to constantly be reading my textbook to take notes, I had lot of trouble trying to understand what I was reading. However I have made really good friends this year and from them I was able to ask a lot of questions and study group with them in order to understand what was going. When they would explain it to me so I could understand they put it in their own words that I was more familiar with. They were able to break it down to my level and kind of connect it to reality today and that's how I was able tot connect with the reading more that way I could understand what was going on.
April 7: The weirdest thing I've had to since school closure was probably not being able to touch things right away. I know that sentence alone sounds oddly weird but what I mean by that is I can't touch any mail that comes to my house without waiting a day, or I can't touch any of the groceries when we do go out to get some without them being wiped down twice beforehand. Now I know this isn't the strangest of things that can happen during quarantine but for me it is really strange considering this never used to be a concern before. It's very hard to get use to as I use to have so much freedoms before this that I didn't even realize it.
April 8: During these times of quarantine a lot of changes have to be made. I haven't been out in a public setting in I don't even know how long I feel like I forgot what it's like to be out "there". I have gotten use to some things but it's still a bit chaotic as I try to figure out things since others work at different paces. School right now is still a bit of a mess since we don't know who is doing what or how to stay in contact with all of them. As tiring as it is I know this is my future so I better be working on it because things aren't going back to how they used to be any time soon.
April 9: In F451 when Montag read a poem to Mildred's friends they had mix and deep reactions. I think these deep reactions happened because the poem spoke to them and moved them in a way that they had never felt before because they were never allowed that experience. In all honesty I don't know why poetry can move people in a way that it does than other things, personally I've never really felt that kind of deep connection to poetry but I do know it's true and I appreciate the work of poems. I think it's important to find and keep those connections with poetry or expression because it's what makes us human, it speaks to us because we build that connection that no one else can relate to on your own personal level.
