Literary Analysis #1
The novel I’m reading titled P.S I Still Love You is about a young shy high school girl named Lara Jean who is dating her polar opposite named Peter Kravinsky. Throughout the novel it describes the struggle of teenage relationships, where Peter's ex-girlfriend Genevieve is still not out of the picture making Lara Jean jealous. This then leads her to reconnect with an old crush of hers named John Ambrose who at first is a just a friendly relationship but then it starts to spiral into tension when it takes affect on both Peter and Lara Jean's relationship causing them to split. In the end the reader discovers that Genevieve was actually struggling with a conflict in her life that she needed support from Peter and Lara Jean realized that as much as she cared/liked John Ambrose, it was never like the way she felt for Peter, causing them to end up back together.
The theme of this story is how love is only works if we learn to trust one another. Throughout this story line it describes the obstacles faced when in a relationship which people in everyday reality faced but through this I realized how love/relationships only work if there is trust on both sides otherwise it will only just be a constant battle, which is brought to light throughout this story.
Based off the author's tone I can tell that their morning routine probably consists of getting up, making herself coffee, reading a book to wake, making herself a fit breakfast, and then getting ready to go out and conquer the world. I can picture this because in the novel the way she describes how her main character acts and gets up seems very similar to the author's personality. For example, when the author says things such as "The next morning I dress for school with special"(Han, 57), "I make myself a bowl of Cheerios with sliced banana on top" (Han,57), and "Peter and I are at Starbucks, sitting side by side, studying for our chemistry exam" (Han, 134). These are all evidence as to why I believe that the author's tone reveals how proper/stereotypical her morning routine is just because of her main character's actions in the morning alone, which can reflect her lifestyle.
