The Earth on the Turtle's Back
The myth titled The Earth on the Turtle's Back is a Onondaga-Northeast Woodlands myth which tries to explain how the Earth was created. As reading this for the first time there were many topics I have finally learned.
-Moral is to try harder and stay determine, which was also the purpose; to persuade the young native children to try hard.
-Surprisingly even though this story was told in the older days, the main protagonist of the story was a female muskrat which seems to be very uncommon in the old nomadic life-styles.
-Myth: a story to explain something we don't understand
-The story was made very palatable so that way the story was easily learned because it was fun. It used personification to make us feel connected to the animals like an animated cartoon.
-Personification = anthropomorphism
