Gatsby Prompts Further Thinking

There are multiple ideas we have read about in the Great Gatsby so far but some that have sticked out to me are:

• Rumors intercepting our perspective on life and people: the plot and characters have been developed so far by the rumors we've learned through our narrator Nick to a point where we don't really know if anything is true or false. 
• Does love have a limit?: the inspiration behind this idea comes from the love triangle of the book between Gatsby, Daisy and Tom since the relationships are all intertwine and although Tom is having an affair with Daisy I feel like he still loves her but Daisy now that she is reunited with Gatsby now loves him. 
• The effect of money: a trend throughout this book that has really stood out to me is the presence of money. From Gatsby to Nick money can sometimes define what we are able to do in life but does that effect our personalities 

So from this topics my questions would be: 

1. How do rumors affect the way we interpret life? Why do people lie and gossip when it can have a negative impact on our life and others? 
2. Does love have boundaries or time limit? If love is such a powerful feeling, how come we can't see to control it? 
3. Does money effect the person you are in life? Does money transcend throughout the years to become something we can't even control?
