Great Gatsby ch.4 -notes
-Nick sees Gatsby's speaking as a pitch perfect performance-->unbelievable/not real
-Gatsby character described as an old soul with a confusing structure of talk/thought
-meets all these ppl at G. party,,,, all are "outwardly successful" but have tragic backgrounds
-conveyed racial discrimination of the time period
-Jay Gatsby: knows(loves) Daisy -->why he does what he does like: lives right across the bay (remember ch.1 when Gatsby on dock,, its was DAISY'S) to her as a neighbor, throws these grand parties just so she would come over, and escapes any award situation with Tom (all of this struggle, just because of DAISY?!?!)
-Gatsby and Daisy had a fling before Tom but Tom from day one was cheating her
-Nick starts to have a fling with Jordan
