What Gatsby Says To Me

So far I think the central message of the Great Gatsby is the realization of not believing everything we see and hear. So far the main plot line and characterization has been built on rumors we've learned from what other characters tell our narrator Nick. This theme of secrets and rumors show us how we shouldn't always believe what we hear and from this we should learn to never judge a book by it's cover because we never really know what someone is like until we get to know/understand them.
